Job Title: ESS Technical Support Engineer

Contract Length: 2 months
Rate: £32.78 ph Ltd Co.

An opportunity has arisen for a ESS technical support engineer to join our client's team on a two months contract basis.
Key responsibilities
The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following;
• Responsibility for advice and support in relation to the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of the hardware and software related to the ESS infrastructure
• Assist and advise in the maintenance and support of ESS to ensure continual operational capability whether at the main or deployed operating bases
• Establish a strong working relationship with the GSS administrators and squadron personnel to ensure issues are raised and supported in a timely manner to maintain a safe and effective ESS solution
• Will be required to make decisions and take actions in accordance with laid down processes and work instruction to maintain a safe and effective ESS solution
• Will be required to plan and organise working activities with occasional supervision
• Will be required to detail and present work activities to team leader
It is essential that candidates have the following skills and experience:
• Familiarity with windows server and client operating systems
• Basic knowledge of oracle 10G, enterprise manager and SQL
• Basic knowledge of McAfee E-Poloicy orchestrator and how to implement IT security policies
• Basic knowledge of server architecture and network storage devices
• IT or aircraft Engineering background
The client has advised that this will be an office based role with lone working and the use of display screen equipment.
Working hours
• 5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (please consult line manager for local site core hours).
• Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated (this does not include lunch breaks).
• Start and finish times to be agreed with local line management, in accordance with local site core hours.
• Lunch break allowance is 42 minutes to be taken between 12.00 – 1:45pm (or as agreed with Line Manager). 42 mins will automatically be deducted each working day by the electronic time management system.
• Dependant on workload, local management may request more or less hours are worked within this contract.
Please note, this post is within the UK defence industry and therefore full security clearance is required to take up the position. A pre-requisite for this is that you are a current UK resident and have been so for the previous 5 years.
